Do I need any technical knowledge to use"Web Hosting"?
We've made it as simple as possible for you to get your site up and running. You'll be able to manage your hosting account through the simple Moon Base control panel. It includes an online file manager which makes editing your website files easy. Having said that, you will need some knowledge how websites work in order to build your website. It'll also help if you know a bit about FTP (file transfer protocol), as that's the easiest way to upload files to your website. We'll help you out if we can, and that's why we've put loads of information about how to use web hosting on our support site. How long does it take to set up my new "Web Hosting"?
Most hosting accounts are set up immediately, thought it might take a couple of days for your domain name to point to your hosting.
Can I buy "Web Hosting" without a domain name?
No. Every Moon Base hosting package needs to be associated with a domain name to work. You can register a domain name when you buy your hosting package. Or if you already own the domain you want to use, you can transfer it across to us from your current supplier. Please note, you must transfer the domain and allow the transfer to complete before purchasing a hosting package.
I already own a Domain Name. Can I use it with my "Web Hosting"?
Probably. If the domain name is already registered with Moon Base Hosting, and you're not currently using it with another one of our services, you can add it to your hosting package when you order. If your domain is hosted with another company, you can probably transfer it to us to use with our services. However, please check with your current domain provider, as some companies won't let you do this. If you're planning to transfer in a domain to use with your new hosting, you need to transfer the domain first, and let the transfer complete before you buy the hosting package.
Why do you have three different "Web Hosting" groups?
At Moon Base Hosting.Com we realise that different people have different needs, and so because of this, we have divided hosting packages in to three seperate groups.
The Student Packages are designed purely for student use and require a University or College Email Address to register. They are fairly limited but extremly cheap and perfect for the student budget.
The Individual Packages are tailored towards those that are either new or well versed in web design. Perhaps you want a place to store all of your family photos? Or you're a webdesigner with a large portfolio. Then these accounts are perfect for you.
The third group of web hosting packages are designed purely for business use. Our Business Packages come in two sizes and have been designed to cator for small start up/ highstreet businesses, and for those larger corporate businesses which require serious amounts of Bandwith and Online Storage space.
